Rex Douglas Garrell (age 79) of Gainesville, Va. was born Saturday, June 21, 1924 and died Saturday, June 21, 2003 at his home. Rex was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from United Airlines after 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, O.C. and Pearl Garrell and one brother, Carl. Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary Ball Garrell: one son, Doug Garrell and his wife, Jane; two daughters, Susan Dombroff and her husband, Jeff, and Teri Thacker and her husband, Wes; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
