Donald L. Kilpatrick, Abingdon Chapel
68 of Milan and formerly of Abingdon, died at 11:25 pm Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Davenport, Iowa.
Don was born on August 11, 1941 in Galesburg, the son of Earl "Slim" and Betty (Curtis) Kilpatrick.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Rees of Rock Island and Christina Arduser of East Moline; two granddaughters, Megan and Samantha; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Wanda Krans of Abingdon and Linda Bent of Galesburg; three brothers Jack Strickland and Jay Strickland both of Galesburg and Johnny Strickland of Abingdon; a special friend, Dorothy Rowland of Milan
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
He grew up in Abingdon and had lived in Milan since 1995. He worked as a dealer trade driver for 14 years. He served in the US Marines from 1959 until 1963. He was an avid pool player.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
