Ira L. Edwards, 55, of 4177 Chaparral, Philview, died Saturday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn., while visiting in the home of a daughter.

The victim of an apparent heart attack, Edwards was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company as safety director.

Surviving are his wife, Nita; daughters, Jennifer and Mrs. Betty Picquet (Norman) of Memphis, Mrs. Bill Spalsbury of Fort Worth, Mrs. Frank Burton of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Clay Bybee of Dallas.

Funeral services are pending with Minton Mortuary.

Final rites for Ira Lee Edwards Jr., 55, are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from Bunavista Methodist Church.

The Rev. Will T. Winslow of Haltom City will officiate. Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park will be directed by Minton Mortuary.

Edwards was a member of Bunavista Methodist Church. Born in Clovis, N.M., Nov. 11, 1910, Edwards was employed as safety director by Phillips Petroleum Company.

He died Saturday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn., where they had gone for a visit with their daughters.

Surviving are his wife, Nita, of the home, 4177 Chaparral, Philview; Jennifer and Mrs. N.E. Picquet of Memphis, Mrs. Bill Spalsbury of Ft. Worth, Mrs. F.C. Burton of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Clay Bybee of Dallas; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. I.L. Edwards Sr. of Oklahoma City; stepfather George Woodring of Oklahoma City, and 11 grandchildren.

BORGER - Funeral rites for Ira Lee Edwards Jr., 55, of 4177 Chaparral, will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Bunavista Methodist Church with the Rev. Will T. Winslow, pastor of the Central Christian Church of Haltom City, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary.

Mr. Edwards died Saturday in Memphis, Tenn. He was an employee of the Phillips Petroleum Co. at Borger and was born in Clovis, N.M. He was a member of the Bunavista Methodist.

Surviving are his wife, Nita; daughters, Miss Jennifer Edwards of the home, Mrs. N.E. Picquet of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. C.H. Bybee of Dalls, Mrs. F.C. Burton of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Bill Spalsbury of Fort Worth; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Edwards Sr. of Oklahoma City; a stepfather, George Woodring of Borger, and 11 grandchildren.
