Juanita Edwards, 88, died Thursday, April 27, in Borger.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Coyle, Okla., and had been a Borger resident since 1942. She was a retired dorm mother in the girls dorm at FPC and was a member of University Heights Christian Church. She was also a member of the Republic [sic] Women's Club, Paragon Club and Girls Scouts of America.

Survivors include five daughters, Betty Picquet, Barbara Bybee and Nita Jo Wilson, all of Angel Fire N.M., Madelyn Pons of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jennifer Miesse of Anchorage, Ala. [sic]; 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Juanita L. Edwards, 88, died Thursday, April 27, in Borger.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at University Heights Christian Church with Rev. Charles Stillman, Pastor, officiating and Rev. Todd Moss, Pastor of Antioch Christian Church of Elk City, Okla., assisting. Interment will be in The Garden of Good Shepherd at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Coyle, Okla., and had been a Borger resident since 1942. She was a member of University Heights Christian Church and was a retired dorm mother in the girls dorm of Frank Phillips College. She also was a member of the Republican Women's Club, Paragon Club, and Girl Scouts of America. She married Ira Lee Edwards Nov. 29, 1930.

Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1965. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Lee Spalsbury, and a great-grandson, Brian Smits.

Survivors include five daughters, Betty Picquet and her husband Norman of Angel Fire and Albuquerque, N.M., Barbara Bybee and her husband Cleburne of Angel Fire, N.M. and Amarillo, Nita Jo Wilson and her husband Jim of Angel Fire, NM. and Dalhart, Mandy Pons and her husband Al of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jennifer Miesse and her husband John of Anchorage, Alaska; 23 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren; one nephew, Dale Davis of Puntagorda, Flo; plus many, many dear friends.

Casket bearers will be Mike Picquet, Pat Picquet, Chris Bybee, Robert Burton, Eric Spalsbury, Matt Spalsbury, Erron Spalsbury, Jason Miesse, and Adam Miesse.

The family extends special appreciation to David and Helen for always being there. They wish to extend a special thanks to Quinn Care Center, Crown of Texas Hospice, and Garretson Retirement Center in Panhandle.

Memorials may be made to University Heights Christian Church, Frank Phillips College, or Dallas Christian College.
