Double Funeral for Caldwell Brothers Sunday
A double funeral service for Jack Caldwell, aged 47, of Subiaco and his brother, Alva Caldwell, aged 56, of Scranton was held at the Methodist Church in Prairie View Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Rollen King, Assembly of God minister of East Paris, and Rev. H. F. Techmeyer, Cumberland Presbyterian minister of Scranton, officiating. The Smith Funeral Home of Charleston directed burial in Prairie View Cemetery.
Jack Caldwell died Tuesday of last week from injuries received in a fall at a rock quarry Monday near Scranton. Alva Caldwell died suddenly at his home Thursday.
Both were lifelong residents of Logan County.
Jack Caldwell is survived by his wife; five sons, Ivan of the U.S. Air Force, Japan, and Russell Lee, Billy Harold, Darrel Fay and Bobby Gean, all of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Leroy Mask of Elgin, Ill., and Misses Jackeline and Virginia Caldwell of the home; two brothers, Davie Caldwell of Prairie View and Hester Caldwell of Charleston; and four sisters, Mrs. Emmett Clough of Guadalupe, Calif., Mrs. Arthur Pearson of Bellingham, Wash., Mrs. Arion (sic) Rainwater of Scranton and Mrs. Johnnie Beck of Hayti, Mo.
Alva Caldwell is survived by his wife; one son, Herbert H. Caldwell of Ozark; a daughter, Mrs. Irven Hamilton of Quincy, Ohio, three grandchildren, and the same brothers and sisters.
