Her father was a minister of the Missionary Baptist Church, joining about 1882. He and his growing family travelled the country as he engaged in his ministry. As a result, several of his children were born in different states, depending on where he was ministering at.
His daughter, Annie, in this case was born in Sonoma County, California. The family returned to Texas some time later.
Annie married Joseph Sanford Lawrence on September 12, 1898 in Collin County, Texas.
At least two children are accounted for: Joseph Sanford Lawrence, Jr. and his sister Roberta Louise Lawrence ( she may possibly be buried in this same cemetery, needs verification).
Two other children may have been born to them, but not confirmed: James Russell Lawrence, b. 1902 and Laura Jean, b.1906. It is possible that they were born and died before 1910. Any clarification would be appreciated. A 1910 US census has not been found for this Lawrence family to confirm either way.
In 1939, Annie and her daughter Roberta were living at Seminary Hill, Fort Worth, Texas.
When Annie Laura Thomas Lawrence died in November 1962, she was at Ozona, in Crockett County, Texas. Why she was there isn't clear. According to her death certificate she was returned to Fort Worth, Texas for burial at the Greenwood Cemetery, now known as Greenwood Memorial Park.
