Norwood Howard

GEORGETOWN : Norwood "Naughty" Howard, 74, the husband of Carolyn R. Howard, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 28, 2009 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Howard was born the son of Bailey Ward Howard Sr. and Maybelle Bone Howard-Sports June 20, 1935. He attended Winyah High School, was a contractor, was a member of the Plantersville Hunting Club, and was a member of Prince Fedrick Episcopal Church.

He was blessed to love, and to help raise as his own six children, Wayne Springs, Donnie Springs, Ann S. Guyton, Wanda S. Henderson, Sharon S. (Flynn) Haselden, and Michael (Jessica) Smith; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Naughty, as he was affectionately called, welcomed into his home Anthony Haselden, Rebecca Haselden, Nicholas Smith, and Nathan Smith. He was honored to have been apart and proud of the man he saw in Terry Norwood (Rendi) Guyton and his beloved sons, Terry Jr. Trevor, and Trace.

Also surviving are three sisters, Reba Mae Ard , Frances (Harris) Moree, and Shirley (Carl) Sylvester.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Bailey Ward Howard Jr.; a sister, Maybelle Howard Junior; and stepdaughter, Sharon S. Haselden.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009 in the Georgetown Community Church, with interment following in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
