Frances Anne Howard Moree, 82, the wife of Logan Harris Moree, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Mrs. Moree was born a daughter of Bailey Ward Howard and May Belle Bone Howard on November 9, 1930, in Georgetown, SC. She was a 1947 graduate of Winyah High School. She was a retired employee of South Carolina National Bank and was a member of the Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church. Like the red and yellow roses she grows as part of her garden, the gentle gracious and beautiful fragrance of her life shall ever fill the hearts of her family. She committed her life to acts of selfless giving for her family, and an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished title – Beloved Mother.

Frances and Harris were married December 25, 1952, and celebrated 60 years together.

Their home was blessed with: three sons, Logan H. (Brenda) Moree, Jr., Stephen H. (Mona) Moree, and Geoffrey E. (Vickie) Moree; five grandchildren, Stacie Moree, Keith Moree, L. Patrick (Heather) Moree, Stephen (Erika) Moree, Jr., and Christopher Moree; and five great grandchildren, Nathan, Amaya, Kaidence, Landen, and Evan. She also leaves behind two sisters, Reba Mae H. Ard and Shirley H. (Carl) Sylvester; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by: her parents; two brothers, Norwood "Naughty" Howard and Bailey Ward "BW" Howard, Jr; and a sister, Mable "T-tiny" Howard.

Funeral Service will be 4 PM, Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

An 82-year-old Georgetown woman was killed as she was crossing the street to visit a neighbor, according to County Coroner Kenny Johnson.

The accident happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Highway 701 near Empire Court.

Johnson said Frances Moree was crossing the highway to see a neighbor when she was struck by an SUV.
