Greer,, SC - Mrs. Myrtle Buchanan Powell died on 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1962 in a Greer, SC hospital, following seven years of declining health and a serious illness of two months. Widow of J. E. Powell and native of Madison County, NC. Daughter of the late Willie R. and Grace Thomason Buchanan and resident of Greer, SC area for 50 years. Member of the Apalache Methodist Church. She had made her residence with her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Bradley for the past 13 years. Survivors included: three daughters, Mrs. Marvin Bradley, Mrs. F. C. Worley and Mrs. S. J. Richards; one son, Perry E. Powell; five brothers, W. T., F. R., J. C., C. J. and T. G. Buchanan; three sisters, Mrs. C. V. Edwards, Mrs.C. W. Branch and Mrs. .T. V. King; 12 grandchildren. She was 65 years of age at demise and interment was in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
