Mrs. Georgia (Vallie) Murray, 85, died Sunday morning January 12, in Lubbock, where she had moved recently to be near a daughter. For many years, Mrs. Murray was a leader in Wellington Church life here.

Mrs. Murray was born Feb. 14, 1900, in Lee County, the daughter of George W. Huff and Alice Scott Huff. She married Noble (Shorty) Murray Dec. 19, 1915 in Dodson, and she moved to Wellington with her family from Dodson in 1933. She remained here until 1983, when she moved to Abilene. She was a member of First Baptist Church and served as Training Union Director and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a long-time president of the Women's Missionary Union. Suriviors are a son, Talmadge Murray of Turnersville, New Jersey; two daughters, Bertha Williams of Abilene and Lois Cudd of Lubbock. There are 7 grand children, 13 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, and by 6 sisters.
