George was a hard working , well-liked farmer. He was born, lived and died in Hill county, TX. His father was Francis M. Brown and mother Nancy J. Burks-Brown. He remained a bachelor.

Funeral services for George W. Brown, aged 62 years, one month and 26 days, who died Tuesday at his home three miles southeast of Itasca, were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Itasca with Max T. Neal, minister of the Church of Christ and Rev. R.M.Hopkins officiating. Interment was in the Itasca Cemetery.
Mr Brown was a long time resident of the Itasca section. Surviving are five sisters and one brother. He was an uncle of Mrs Bob Wilkinson of Itasca.
