ELDEN "BUDDY" CLEMENTS, SR.

Elden "Buddy" Clements, Sr., 87, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in a local care center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19th at the Elliott-Hamil Cahpel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Pastor David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Born in Eastland County on May 27, 1922, Elden was the son of the late Columbus Elden Clements and Mary Lou Adams Clements. He served in the Army Air Corps with the 8th Air Force for five years during World War II. He retired as Distribution Superintendent with the City of Abilene Water Department after 40 1/2 years. Buddy loved horses and enjoyed being around his family, especially his grandkids. He was the man that everyone went to for just about anything! Buddy was a member of Wylie Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: wife, Dorothy Clements; daughter, Judy Karen Clements; 7 sisters, Ethel Perry, Ora Marsh, Eva Dean Walker, Etta Oliver ( Memorial #24953776), Addie Mae Walker, Charlie Lee Walker, and Lessie Jean Scarborough; and an infant brother. Suvivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Elden H. Clements, Jr. and Janis; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Katherine Clements, and Jana and Billy Allen; and 5 great-grandchildren, Reanne Parker, Blake Parker, Aynslee Clements, Johnathan Allen, and Sara Beth Allen.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country or West Texas Rehabiliation Center.

The family will be at 3442 Santa Monica Dr., Abilene, Texas 79605.
