George Howard Bolinger, 83, of Huntsville, died on April 14, 2007, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 24, 1923, at Wharton, Ark., the son of Dewey and Mildred (Dotson) Bolinger. He was an insurance agent for 20 years and a farmer. He was an veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He attended the Harmony Baptist Church and was a member of the Hayes-Smith Post #137, American Legion in Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary (Sparks) Bolinger, and one son, Jeffrey Bolinger, three sisters, Loretta Walden, Juanita Brannon and Dorothy Sparks, and infant twin brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Jean (Lawson) Bolinger of the home; one son and daughter-in-law Butch and Joye Bolinger of Huntsville; one daughter, Carolyn Cline of Huntsville; one stepson, Jeffrey Sharp of Huntsville; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Ronda and John Dunham and Jimmi and Doug Wall, all of Huntsville; one sister, Joyce Pike of Salem, Ore.; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Duncan officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers were: Mike Haley, Randy Watkins, Wayne Ledbetter, Jeffrey Sharp, Matthew Dunham and Cliff Cline. Honorary pallbearers were: Jerry Ledbetter, Bob Ledbetter, Larry Lawson, Dwight Steele, Keith Escue and Brad Fortner.
