William R Bridges, 58, of Rt 6 Olney, died at 3:20pm Thursday at the County Highway Garage office.
Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bridges was born May 31, 1923, in Richland County, the son of Roe and Etta (Runyon) Bridges. He married Vivian Fiock on May 11, 1946 in Olney and she survives.

He was Richland County Superintendent of Highways for the past 32 years; a member of the Immanuel Methodist Church; a charter member of Ridgeway Chapter of Audubon Society; a member of the Elks; American Legion; VFW; and a WW II Veteran .

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Mike and Janine Bridges, Dundas; a daughter and son-in-law Richard and Ann Edelson, Louisville, KY; 2 grandsons, Aaron and Benjamin Edelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Clark.
