David Cecil Johnson, 87, a retired engine foreman, died of a heart attack Friday,November 16, 1990,at St. Dominic / Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Services are 3:30pm today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Natchez Trace Memorial Park. Visitation is after noon today at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson, a Panola County, MS native, had been a longtime resident of Jackson. He moved to Madison in 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Madison. He retired as an engine foreman after 46 years with Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He was a member of the Illinois Central Coffee Club, the Northside Senior Citizens Club, the 50Plus Club of Ridgeland and a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Survivors include: wife, Evelyn Maxine Vanderberg Johnson, sons, David B. Johnson of Dade City, FL, James William Johnson of Madison, MS and Van Douglas Johnson of Hollandale, MS; sisters Cuebelle McMinn, Velma Barnett, Dean McCullar and Lillian Child, all of Batesville, MS; and a brother, Audley Thorne Johnson of Abilene, TX.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Madison Building Fund.
