Obituary, Maries Co Gazette, Vienna, MO, Wednesday, Feb 12, 1997, page 10; Martha Faye Woods, 78 of Dixon was born on October 21, 1918 in Pulaski County near Dixon and died in her home in Dixon February 6, 1997. She was united in marriage to Raymond Woods on August 16, 1935 and unto this union two sons and two daughters were born. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1981. She is survived by her children, Billie and his wife, Rosalee Woods, Lorretta and her husband Marvin Rose and Dale Woods of Dixon, and Dorothy and her husband, Melvin Kohler of Imperial; 13 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Gertie Overshon and May Ray of Dixon, Ethlene Hance of Doolittle and Mable Hance, her best friend of Newburg, one brother, Ed Robertson of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Granville Robertson; three sisters and infant sister, Ellen Morris and Alma Anderson; an infant grandson Billy Joe, grandson Billy Don and a great grandson, Tom Ebeling. Faye was baptised in the Church of God at an early age at Kenner, worked as a cook at the Dixon School System for 21 years and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home in Dixon, Saturday. Pastor James Bailey officiated. Music was provided by Jeff Williams and serving as pallbearers were nephews, Paul Hance, Edward Anderson, Fred Robertson, Roy Overshon, Brad Robertson and Mike Watson. Honorary Pallbearers were Bill Burke and Raymond Ray. Burial was in the Kenner Cemetery.
