Mrs. Emma Mitcham, Former Rockdalian, Buried Here
Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Mitcham, a former Rockdale woman, were held here Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the Phillis and Luckey funeral home. Rev. R. H. Lovell, Baptist minister of Milano conducted the servces and burial was made in the old Salem cemetery. Nephews served as casket attendants.
Mrs. Mitcham died Friday in Houston where she made her home with a daughter. She was a native of Alabama and 83 years of age. she had lived in this section of Milam county for long years and will be well remembered by numerous persons here. Some thirty years ago she moved to Houston.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Burns of Temple and Mrs. Zelda Eads of Houston; a son, Leonard Mitcham of Houston; three brothers, Charlie and R. S. Smith of Angleton and Homer Smith of Houston.
