Mr. William F. Davis, proprietor of the East Side Drug Store, died at his home on West fourth Street at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 1921. after an extended illness of several months.
The funeral services were held at his home Saturday, Sept. 3, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Father Jerman, who attended him in his final illness. The remians were laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, his son, Isaac, who is managing his drug store., his son, Ora, of Oakford, IL, and his daughter, Mrs. Gertie Tomlinson, of Chicago, and a brother, John, in California.
Mr. Davis was born in Worth County, Mo, Sept. 21, 1861. His parents died in his early boyhood, after whose death he was taken to the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Guinn, at Dean, Iowa., and grew up to manhood in her home. He was united in marriage with Miss Ella Mae Stansberry July 29, 1884, and in 1889 they came to Milan.
Mr. Davis went into business on the east side of the square and continued in business there until 1908. From that time until 1914 he was in busines in Trenton. He then moved to St.Joseph, returning to Milan in October 1920., and bought the EastSide Drug Store. He was successful in business and had many friends. Countless friends extend their sincere condolences to his bereaved family.
