Norman Doyle "Jack" Maggard, 79, of Witter died July 23, 2006, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. He was born Oct. 3, 1927, at Venus to Andy and Ollie Pruitt Maggard. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a Baptist and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Martin Maggard of the home; one son, Ronnie Maggard and wife Mary of Springdale; six daughters, Twilla Bryant and husband Jerry and Patricia Maggard, all of Witter, Debbie Dennis and husband Joe of Aurora, Pam Lawson of Summerfield, Ohio, Judy Phillips and husband Dennis and Sandra Hudgens and husband Bill, all of Elm Springs; three brothers, Melvin Maggard and Dale Maggard, both of Witter, and Everett Maggard of Springdale; four sisters, Ruby Myers and Velma Potter, both of Witter, Jessie Allred of Springdale and Jeanie Easley of Gravette; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Venus Cemetery with Chance Bryant and Rev. Layton Porter officiating.

Arrangements are by Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville.

Pallbearers will be Chance Bryant, Billy Dennis, Allan Varner, Brandon Harp, Justin Phillips and Lee Bryant.
