Lauretta H. (nee Luber) Kantner, age 94, of Highland, IL., died Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Mary Culver Home for the Blind in Kirkwood, MO. She was born March 21, 1915, in Sebastopol, IL., the daughter of George and Alvina (nee Frey) Luber. On May 4, 1935, she married Arnold P. `Arno` Kantner, who passed away November 6, 1976. She was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church-Highland; St. Anne`s Altar Society of the church; American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #439-Highland; Past President of the Altar Society and Past President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #439. Born at Sebastopol, IL; moved to Bond County outside of Pierron in 1917, grew up there; she attended Immaculate Conception School. After school, she worked at Molten-Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland, Later she worked for Samuel and International Shoe Factories in St. Louis, MO. Lauretta was also a nutritional site worker in Highalnd and did senior home companion work for area people. She enjoyed going to flea markets for more than 30 years, traveling, crocheting and quilting. Survivors include Grandaughter-Lisa A. (Jeffrey) Allen of O`Fallon, Mo., Grandson-Douglas R.
