He was born on a farm north of Colesburg on 22 Oct 1868.
When he was 10 he moved with his parents to a farm east of Colesburg, which has since been his home.
He was married to Sophie Kruger for 46 years; she died the previous June.
He died from a heart ailment at the home of his son Harold, four miles north of Manchester.
He was survived by 7 childen:

Mrs. Ira Bissell of Delaware, Iowa
