Mrs. Charles Hook passed away Tuesday at the family home at Elk, and on Friday her daughter, Mrs. Combs died. Both deaths were due to typhoid fever and there are seven more cases among the various members of the family, several of which are extremely critical. Private burials were given Mrs. Hook and Mrs. Combs at the Brookshier cemetery.
The home is under quarantine and it is hoped to confine the deadly malady to present cases. Two trained nurses are caring for the patients. To those so sadly stricken we extend sincere sympathy.
