Mrs. Mary L. Knight Long Time Resident Dies at Daughter's
After an illness of two weeks, Mrs. Mary L. Knight, wife of the late Dr. Arthur Knight of Sauquoit, pass away Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Owens, 1150 Conkling avenue in Utica. Mary L. Howland was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Seth Howland of Bridgewater. She was a direct descendant of John Howland of the "Mayflower," She was born in Greig, N.Y., September 3, 1847. Her people soon after moved to Bridgewater, where Mrs. Knight lived until her marriage, November 24, 1868. The major part of her married life was spent in Sauquoit, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Church. For the past six years she had made here with her daughter. While in Utica she was a member of Olive-Presbyterian Church. She was president of the W.C.T.U. for 10 years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. J.D.C. Miller of Sauquoit, Mrs. C. W. Owens of Utica and Mrs. C. W. Langford of Clinton, a brother, Harvey Howland of New Garden, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. H.H. Eliott of Syracuse, and nine grand children

Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Mary L. Howland Knight, widow of the late Dr. Arthur L. Knight of Sauquoit. Mrs. Knight was born in Graig, Lewis county.
