Graveside services for Alton Clyde Spence, 85, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Mr. David Langford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Clyde was born April 16, 1918 in Rowlette, TX. He departed this life on July 6, 2003. He worked for the City of Lubbock for 18 years before moving to Arkansas for a short time and then to Dallas, where he worked for the City of Garland until he retired in 1983. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathren; three brothers, Frank Mooney, Johnny Mooney, and Jim Spence; two sisters, Ellen Spence, and Norma Tice; and one daughter, Toni Spence Logsdon.

He is survived by two daughters, Sondra Simpson and her husband, Eddie of Lubbock and Jo Meador and her husband, Bill of Houston; two sons, Alton Spence, Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann of Atkins, Ark. and Richard Spence and his wife, Madie of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Smith of Lubbock, and Doll Scott of Mineral Wells; eight grandsons; ten great-grand children; and four great-great-grandchildren.
