Mary aka Polly Peck never married and lived to 76 years of age. In 1880 she was living with her oldest sister Nancy Peck Bard/Baird in Richfield, Otsego, NY according to the 1880 census.
She inherited $500 according to her father, Amos' will of 1845. She should logically be buried in this cemetery but no stone has been found. She is the only person listed in this cemetery who we are uncertain about her gravesite. Research such as her probate entries of 1885 and 1888 reveal: From the administration papers of Mary Peck, died 6 March 1888 we learn:that she was a resident of the Town of Saratoga immediately preceding her death;that she left no will or testament;that the probable value of her personal estate did not exceed $800;that she left surviving her:Amos Peck, brother, residing at Saratoga NY; Clarinda Haight, sister, residing at Saratoga Springs, NY; George Peck, Reed Peck and Mary Ann Peck, all of Northumberland, nephews & niece; Administrator was Abram Bennett No clue as to burial place.. found in Letters of administration vol 7 p.207 Saratoga county.
Her death notice was found in the Daily Saratogian Wednesday
March 7, 1888 on pg.5 as follows: "PECK - In Saratoga near Coveville, March 6, 1888 Mrs. Mary Peck 75 years." She was called Mrs in error.
