Laura Frances Inboden
(November 2, 1931 - February 18, 2010)
Laura Frances Inboden, 78, passed away February 18th at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born and raised in Bay, graduating from Bay High School and Arkansas State University.
Laura's passion for children and education was evident as she literally touched the lives of thousands of families throughout her 32 years as an educator. She began with the Head Start Program but the majority of her career was spent as an elementary teacher with Jonesboro Public Schools. She also taught in the Adult Education Program and tutored numerous students, even after retirement.
Survivors include Charles, her husband of 60 years; four daughters, Florence Glover Elam, Dianna Way (Ed), Charlene Bari (Tony), all of Jonesboro and Debbie Fox (Bud) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two sons, Steve Inboden (Chicki) of Trumann and Jerry Glover (Pam) of Wynne; three sisters, Jennie Penn (Tom) of Jonesboro, Madean Dubus (Skip) of Texas, and Jimmie Kohler (Warren) of California. She had 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Laura Turner Blalock; three brothers, James A., George and Herbert Blalock; and five sisters, Mary Blalock, Lula Mae Glover, Amelia Lewis, Jane Johnston and Sue Pierce.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 21st at Central Baptist Church, 3707 Harrisburg Road with Archie Mason and Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, February 20th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Emerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Way, Chuck Bari, Matt Elam, Ben Elam, Zac Inboden, and Charlie Inboden.
The family asks that those wanting to leave lasting memorials give to the Salvation Army, 107 S. Fisher Street, Central Baptist Church, 3707 Harrisburg Road, or the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 400 East Street, all of Jonesboro or First Baptist Church of Bay, PO Box 190, Bay, AR 72411.
The family would also like to express special thanks to Dr. Jeff Cohen, Dr. Brandon Treece, the nurses on wing 3-East at St. Bernard's Medical Center and the nurses of the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
