Mrs.Ehrlich, 63, of Charlotte, died February 12, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center after losing a valiant battle with an infection during treatment for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.

Born May 24, 1946, Sandy was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Eleanor Mabe of Madison, North Carolina. Following graduation from Madison High School in 1964, Sandy attended Leon's Beauty School in Greensboro and was a licensed hairdresser for almost 45 years. Until her illness, Sandy was a hairdresser at Asbury/Aldersgate retirement home for over 25 years and at Great Clips for Hair at Old Towne Village Shopping Center on Carmel Road.

In addition to her best friend and husband of 36 years, Edward E. Ehrlich, Sandy is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Beth) and husband, Trevor Slater of Pineville, N.C, and her sister Judy Mabe Pope of Stoneville, N.C. She will also be missed by her two cats, Boomer and Purrsey.

Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203 and 2 p.m. Sunday, February 21, at First Baptist Church of Madison, NC.
