Daughter of William and Viginia RUMLEY. Married William "Bill" HOLLAND. Mother of four children. She died from an inoperable malignant brain tumor.

Dorothy "Dot" Holland 77, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010. She was born April 6th 1932 in Greensboro, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years William "Bill" Holland Sr., her parents William and Virginia Rumley, brother William Ronnie Rumley, grandsons David G. Holland, Brandon T. Sprinkle, and sister-in-law Pat Rumley.
Dot is survived by her 4 children; Catherine H. Smith, Ann H. Sprinkle, William "Billy" Holland, Jr. and wife Denise, Sue H. Archer and husband Allen. Dot's grandchildren William Arlendo Smith and fiance Kristy, M. Lee Smith, Trampas C. Gray, D. Parker Sprinkle, Hayley Stafford, A. Taylor Sprinkle, W. Ryan Archer, Laura E. Holland, and great granddaughter Shelby Lee Mitchell, sister Barbara Salmon and brother Thomas "Tommy" Rumley.
Dot Holland was a graduate of Rankin High School class of 1951. She assisted in the management of the family business, Holland Electric Company for 55 years and held an unlimited Electrical Contractors License since 1983. Dot was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Dot and Bill were avid campers for over 40 years and were members of the International Camping Club for 38 years. Dot's camping travels carried her to 48 states, Canada and Mexico. She was a past member of Piedmont Saddle Club. Dot leaves behind a legacy of strong family values and many cherished friendships. She truly will be missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Norma Williams.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent in Dot's name to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
