DIED—After a brief illness of dropsy of the heart, at his late home in Callao, Mo., about 6 a.m., January 4, 1892, Dr. Hardin Perkins Benning, in the 66th year of his age. In the presence of a large concourse of his neighbors and friends very impressive and appropriate funeral services were held at the M. E. church at 2:30 p.m., Jany. 5, 1892. The funeral discourse was preached by Rev. A. C. Browning of the Callao M. E. church. After which Rev. Theo. Mayhew read a sketch of and spoke briefly, touching the life and character of the deceased. Interment at the Callao cemetery. The deceased leaves a wife and seven children to mourn their loss. Dr. Benning was an old and highly esteemed citizen of Callao. He was a kind husband and father—a man of sturdy character, of kind heart ands generous disposition. Deceased will be mourned by all who knew him.
