Born in Habersham County, he was the husband of Stella Boyko Caudell and the son of the late Claude and Ida Morris Caudell. He was retired, co-owner of Cornelia Mill & Feed Company, a courier for Habersham Bank and a U. S. Navy World War II veteran. He was a member of B. C. Grant Baptist Church, the Cornelia Masonic Lodge No. 92, an honorary member of Mt. Airy, Masonic Lodge No. 141, member of Royal Arch, No. 67, the E. L. McConnell Council No. 40, Philemon Commandry No. 33 and the Yaarb Shrine Temple in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, daughter, Margaret Smith of Forsyth, son, Larry Caudell of Alto; stepdaughter, Lorraine Swinford of Greenville, S. C.; sisters, Irene Scroggs of Cornelia, Ola Mae Faulkner of Comming; Maxine Herrin of Smyrna, three grandchildren.
Graveside services were at Level Grove cemetery with full Masonic honors.
