She was daughter of the late Claude and Ida Mae Morris Caudell. She was a member of Cornelia First Baptist Church and the Susan Anderson Circle. She owned and operated Star's Restaurant in Baldwin and also was employed with Carwood Manufacturing and Belk Department Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Scroggs.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Kaye Wilkes, Cornelia; son, Jack Anthony Scroggs, Athens; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
