US Air Force Captain James Frederick Cameron was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Air Force Reserve, CPT Cameron served our country until September 13th, 1969 in Gia Dinh, South Vietnam. He was 34 years old and was married. James died when his plane crashed. His body was recovered. James was born on September 29th, 1934 in St Simons Island, Georgia. CPT Cameron is on panel 18W, line 078 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 14 years.
I felt robbed when I got the notice of Jim's & Tom Norman's deaths. New in RVN, Jim was my new roommate at Tuy Hoa Air Base, Republic of Vietnam, when he and Tom were sent TDY to Saigon. Several weeks later I was the second one in our squadron(20th SOS Green Hornets)to get notice of their being shot down and killed. Jim, I'm sorry I never got to know you better.
