Based on David's recorded date of birth (21 Feb. 1736/7), on the day he died he was 75 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of his Age) 76. Either the gravestone maker or the Bliss family calculated his age at death based on the wrong year (1736) of birth, pushing his stated Ætatis suæ age at death to 77.
