Henry Thomas Alvey, 90, of Paducah died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital. Mr. Alvey was the owner and operator of Alvey's Grocery in High Point for many years and was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Paducah. Surviving are one daughter, Delores Lambert of Paducah; three sons, Richard Alvey of Reidland, and Donnie Alvey and Morris Alvey, both of Paducah; one sister, Lillie Mae Burgess of West Paducah; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Orene Wilkins Alvey; one son, Wesley Alvey; two sisters; and four brothers. His parents were Tom Alvey and Maudie Cron Alvey. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gospel Assembly Church with the Revs. Encil Edmonds and Mike Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Paducah and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
