Marvin E. Bergner, 86

Marvin Elford Bergner was born on January 29, 1913 the son of Ole and Anna (Lindner) Bergner in La Grande Township, Minnesota. He lived his entire life in Douglas County. As a child he attended Country School District #88. He worked on the family farm and then went to work for Bob Jelsing. Later Marvin worked for Alexandria Lumber for 28 years and Bellanca Aircraft for eight years.

In July, 1939, Marvin married Hazel West of Alexandria. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July of 1999. Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising produce in his garden.

Marvin died on October 28, 1999 at the age of 86.

He is survived by his wife Hazel; two sons: Richard (Marion) of Spring Hill, FL; James (Carole) of Portland, OR and a brother Sidney of Alexandria.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and sister Cora Palmer.

Funeral services were held on November 2, 1999 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend William Rowen officiating. Music was provided by Ruth Peterson, organist and Dwayne Soderholm, soloist.

nterment was at the Kinkead Cemetery with Don Fernow, Don Ogren, Stan Ramsdell and Kermit Hohnwaldt serving as pallbearers.

Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria.
