Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch with the Rev. Ken Sheppard, pastor of Faith Covenant Church, and the Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church, officiating.
Masonic graveside rites will be under the auspice of the Billy Dixon Lodge No. 1369. Burial will be by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
A native of Arkansas, he had been a Fritch resident for 46 years. He was a buffalo rancher, had farmed in Oklahoma, taught school in Dumas, independent contractor for NGPL and Dresser Engineering, and operated a greenhouse.
Mr. Blackmon was a member of Faith Covenant Church, a 32nd degree Mason, member and Past Master of the Billy Dixon Lodge No. 1369 in Fritch, Khiva Shrine and Borger Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Judith of the home; a son, Terry Blackmon of Del Norte, Colo.; two step-sons, Don Cole of Fritch; and Jim Cole of Plano; two daughters, Debbie Brewester of Mustang, Okla.; Ruth West of Woodward, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Wright, Marvin Moore, Lon Blackmon, Bob Hammack, Buster Chaffin, and Andy Andrews.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Masons.

A son of Jewel W. and Loner M. Blackmon, Jewel S. married Bonnie M. Aubrey in 1943 in Cheyenne, OK. The couple lived in Fritch, TX until making a move to South Fork, CO in 1960. Following several years in CO, Jewel and Loner returned to TX.
The Blackmons were parents of two daughters and a son.
