George A. Alexander, 79, of Borger, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1989, in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral services are pending with Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Alexander, a native of Taloga, Okla., had been a resident of Borger since 1965. He was a retired teacher and school superintendent and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He received his bachelor of science degree from Southwestern State University and his master's degree from Oklahoma University.

He married Gladys Pannell in 1935, in Waters, Okla.

He was preceeded in death by his daughter, Edwanna Opdenhoff, in 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Myrna Orr of Pampa; two brothers, Joe Alexander of Gore, Okla. and Arch Alexander of Stillwater, Okla.; one sister, Goldie Fredricks of Clinton, Okla.; sic grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

George A. Alexander, 79, 115 Abilene, Borger, died Friday morning in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

A retired teacher and school superintendent, he was a native of Taloga, Oklahoma, and a Borger resident for 24 years.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He received his B.S. Degree from Southwestern State University and his Masters Degree from Oklahoma University.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Myrna Orr of Pampa; two brothers, Joe Alexander of Gore, Okla., Arch Alexander of Stillwater, Okla.; one sister, Goldie Fredericks of Clinton, Okla.; sic grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

George Alexander and Gladys Pannell were married in 1935 at Walters, Okla. and he is preceded in death by his daughter, Edwanna Opdenhoff in 1981.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 1990, at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church of Pampa and assisting is Earl Skaggs, pastor, Calvary Baptist of Borger, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be Dee Orr, Gary Opdenhoff, John Orr, Greg Fleming, Adam Akst, and A.E. Friedrich III.
