Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Westbrook Church of Christ with
Dan Clark, minister, officiating. Burial was in Westbrook Cemetery directed
by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Born August 12, 1907 in Soper, Okla., he was a retired rancher. He married
Ollie E. Morris September 23,1931 in Colorado City.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Frances Franklin of Big Spring,
Betty Justice of Kenly, North Carolina, Neva Moore of Midland, Ruby Carter
and Shirley Bradbury, both of Colorado City; one son, George Davenport of
Fort Worth; three sisters, Vera Shafer and Dot Childers, both of Colorado City
and Ida Stokes of Snyder; three brothers Angelo Davenport of Stanton, H F.
Davenport of Anza, California and G. E. (Red) Davenport of Colorado City; 16
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Shim Swann, Pete Barkley, Lody Smith, Doc Sweatt,
Arlis Cotton and R. B. Cain.
