Carl was the son of David Hopkins & Elizabeth Matilda (Trulock)Fisk. David was a blacksmith and traveled with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and wasn't around much. Elizabeth was in Burlington, IA close to family. After her death, the children were split up and lived with vaious relatives. Carl, Effie, & Florence came to live with David Reed who married Elizabeth's Widowed Sister, Sarah Trulock Lamb. David had homesteaded the farm and Carl helped with the farming. Effie married Charlie Evarts and moved to North Platte, NE. Florence married Herman Holscher and moved to Fresno, California. Carl moved out west and farmed for a few years and later moved back and bought the Reed farm where he raised his family. He farmed until his death. He died suddenly, with a heart condition, we believe has been passed down, as two of his children also died suddenly - Darrel B Fisk & Darlene G Boardman.
