MR MACON BOLEN DEAD
WILLISTON, FEB. 8 -- On January 21, Mr. Macon Bolen died at his home in Williston, after an illness of only four days with influenza. He was born March 16, 1873, being the fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Bolen. In early life he became a member of the Mt. Calvery Church, of which he remained a member until his death. He was also treasurer of the Sunday school by which he will be greatly missed. He had spent the greater part of his life around Calvary in which section he was born and reared. Two years ago he moved to Williston, where he held the position of constable.
Mr. Bolen was a devoted husband, a loving father, a kind brother and an affectionate son. None knew him but to love him.
He leaves a wife and three children, besides an aged mother, 7 brothers and 3 sisters, to mourn his loss. The funeral services were conducted in the Mt. Calvary Church in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, by his pastor, the Rev. J.D. Peacock, and his body laid to rest in the adjoining churchyard.
Peaceful by silent slumber, peace in thy grave so low; Thou no more will join our number, Thou no more our sorrows know. You are gone but not forgotten, Never will your memory fade; Loving thoughts will ever linger, Around the grave where you are laid. Mrs. J.H. Bolen.
