Daughter of John Ira Packwood 1804-1879 (Virginia - Missouri) and Abigail Tinder 1809-1851 (Kentucky - Salmon Falls, California). 3rd of 16 children. Lucinda was the mother of 14 children. She was active as a "Wash-woman" during the California 1852 GOLD RUSH. Granddaughter, Cleo Proctor, said that she kept a gold nugget in her apron and took it out on several occasions and let the grandchildren hold it. Cleo said that it felt alive. I inherited the apron that she used during the gold rush in California.
