Dead: John B Packwood, a highly respected citizen of Shoal Creek, died at his home Monday, age 60 years, 3 months, & 21 days. His death was due to complication of diseases. For the past 4 years he had been in very poor health. His untimely departure was not unexpected by his relatives & friends. The deceased had lived in this vicinity all his life.

In 1879 he was married to Mary McCary. To them were born 9 children 7 of whom are living.
They are Mrs. Weaver & Samuel Packwood, Shoal Creek, Mrs. John Puett (Prewitt), Idaho, Mrs. Finis Puett (Prewitt), Wheaton, Mrs. Lon Garrison, Purdy, Hunter & Credie at home.

Rev Dabbs of Rocky Comfort conducted the funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning. Interment was made at the Chitwood Cemetery near Rocky Comfort.
