Mrs. Amanda Troyer Schweitzer, 72, died at noon today at her home in Shipshewana, after more than two months illness. She was born in Eden Twp., Lagrange Co., on January 25, 1866, the daughter of Adam and Mary Troyer. She had lived in Shipshewana for 36 years. On March 24, 1885, she was married to George J. Schweitzer at White Pigeon MI. He died in 1932. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Alva (Faye) Thompson of Indianapolis and Mary Katherine at home; a son, Clyde H. Schweitzer of Pontiac IL; a step-daughter, Dr. Ada Schweitzer of Indianapolis; a stepson, Willard Schweitzer of Howe; and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Seybert of LaGrange. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist Church at Scott, where she was a member. Burial will be in the Sidener Cemetery, west of Howe. The body is at the Shoup Funeral Home in Howe.
