She was born to Alonzo William and Martha Abigail Cook Bird, June 22, 1909 in Rigby, Idaho. She married Jesse M. Gale, June 6, 1931 in Vernal. The Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was a member of the Uintah Clube of the Uintah County Golden Age Center, a member of the Quilter's Club, which have make over 200 quilts, and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; serving in various positions. She worked as a cook in the school lunch program, and in the Safeway's bakery, and as a teller at First Security Bank in Vernal. She loved to fish and hunt and be in the out-of-doors.
Members of her family include two daughters and four sons; Mrs. Dale (Lois) Dahms, Mrs. Dan (Phyllis) Turner, Elwayne Gale, Barry Gale, all of Vernal, Floyd Gale of Dutch John, Clyde Gale of Rock Springs, 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildred.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Delbert (Lennna) Black; a grandson Kent Black; and two granddaughters Arlene and Marlene Mayhew.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 29 in the Maeser First Ward Chapel
Interments was in the Bluebell Cemetery under the direction of the William K Jolley Funeral Home.
