Myrtle L. Varner, 101, formerly of Bellwood, died Sun., Feb. 7 at Homewood, Martinsburg. She was born in Portage, to James M. & Anna M. (Collobert) Corre. She married Ralph A. Varner Sept. 14, 1929, in Cumberland, MD. He died Jan. 14, 1995. Surviving are sons: Herschell D. 'Pat' & wife, Nancy, Roaring Spring and Ralph A. 'Barney' II, Selinsgrove; 6 grandchildren: Herschell D. Varner II, Dwayne Varner, Cynthia Speck, Vicki Roudabush, Rachel Smith and Rebecca Geipel; 16 gr. grandchildren and 3 gr. gr. grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter in-law, Martha J. Varner. Myrtle was a graduate of West Chester Normal School. She retired as an elementary school teacher at Bellwood-Antis School District and member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood. Also, Order of the Eastern Star, Tyrone, Chapter 288. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. Interment, Blair Memorial Park, Antis twp.
