Marietta Coile Phillips

Winterville - Marietta Coile Phillips, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007. A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Francis and Maudie Booth Coile and widow of U.T. Phillips.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by two brothers, Cleveland Coile, Bussey Coile and an adopted niece, Barbara Jean David Allen.

She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007, in the Chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, with Mr. Kyle Guntharp officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Survivors include her daughter, Melba Guntharp, of Winterville; sister, Margaret Sorrels, of Augusta; brother, Clayton (Annie) Coile, of Athens; sisters-in-law, Brady Sue Coile, of Charleston, S.C. and Clara Coile, of Comer; grandchildren, Kyle (Donna) Guntharp, of Monroe, Ingrid (Matt) McClain, of Winterville; four great-grandchildren, Jacob McClain, Melanie McClain, Chet Guntharp, and Iva Guntharp.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 thru 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
