William Roy Cooper, 91 of Spring City, died at Baptist Hospital of Roane County Thursday evening June 23, 1988 following several months illness.
He held positions with Southern Railroad and with TVA and also mined coal before retiring.
He is survived by his wife Grace Cooper of Spring City; two sons, Eugene Cooper of Rockwood and Richard Cooper of Roddy; two step-sons, Allen Visvert of Woodward, Mass. and Woodley Visvert of Norfolk, VA; a brother, Fred Cooper of Rockwood; three sisters, Mrs. Ford McCuistion, Alice Jones and Sally Bare all of Rockwood, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were Sunday in the Eagle Furnace Cemetery with the Rev. Dillard Jenkins Officiating.
Booth Funeral Home, Rockwood was in charge of arrangements.
