FORMER BRIGHAM MAN DIES AT HOME IN AVON
Brigham City, Nov. 22 - George W. Davis, a former resident of this city, died suddenly this morning at his home in Avon, Cache county.
Mr. Davis was born here July 15, 1861, a son of William and Eureka Forsgren Davis. His father was one of Box Elder county's first settlers, having come to Bingham[sic] City in 1850. He married Eliza Roxy Watkins Nov. 11, 1885. She died a number of years later, and he married Vilate Cole Nuhn of Willard, Sept. 3, 1903. While residing here he held many prominent Church positions. He removed to Avon in 1893 and was a member of the high council of the Hyrum stake at the time of his death.
Surviving are his widow and number of children. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 23 at noon, in the Avon ward chapel. The body will be brought to this city for interment in the city cemetery here.
