Additional information provided by Carol Branscome on 3/28/2014 - "Born in Allegheny County, PA to William and Sarah (McKee) Davis. Moved to Utah with his parents family as a teen. Wintered the "first winter" at Brigham City, Utah. Married Susannah Clapper on 2 March 1856 in Utah. By 1860 was in California near San Jose. Between 1876 and 1800 moved to Iowa where he was a farmer. Moved briefly to Oklahoma, returning to Iowa. In the 1900 census, his wife is listed as having 6 children of which 3 were alive. Many of the older siblings left Utah after a few years and scattered all over the county while their parents remained in Utah.
