Mrs. Meadows was born June 21, 1923, in the Pineville area of Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Russell William and Agnes Letitia Rodeffer Rodgers.
She graduated from Elkton High School and had been employed by Duplan in Grottoes and Blue Bell Inc. in Elkton.
On Oct. 17, 1953, she married her husband of 55 years, Ralph Elwood Meadows, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Donnie W. Meadows and wife, Iva, of Elkton; two brothers, Everette Rodgers of McGaheysville and William Rodgers of Penn Laird; two sisters, Agnes Raines of Keezletown and Jane Blosser of New Mexico; and three grandchildren, Charles, Kainen and Rowan Meadows.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at the Furnace United Methodist Church with Pastor Nona F. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
